Any time we are asked to help participate in a fundraiser benefiting children it is an easy decision. In this case, we were asked to participate in the Anything for A Friend fundraiser benefiting Brandon Winger. Brandon is an energetic 13 year old boy with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer.
The event was extremely well organized and it didn't take very long to realize that an entire community was coming together to support Brandon. There were easily a hundred volunteers and about two thousand participants. The photo booth was located in a small room off to side of the main hall where many of the activities were taking place.
Brandon entered the photo booth room followed by a 20 person entourage of mostly girls. Brandon has one of those smiles you can't forget. Everyone was clamoring to get in the photo booth with Brandon. As I downloaded the photos that night, I noticed a common theme in the photo booth: kissing Brandon!
At the end of the event, everyone gathered outside for giant balloon launch. The sense of love and support was amazing. Over $40,000 was raised on Saturday night. The best thing about Anything for a friend, is that 100% of the proceeds raised go toward the person going through the difficult trial.

A Photo Booth.... really?
We have heard this phrase a lot the past several weeks as we have told family and friends we are now in the photo booth rental business. The last few years photo booth rentals at weddings and other events have become increasingly popular. We have attended weddings in Utah that had photo booths and it added a nice touch to the receptions, but it didn't really leave a lasting impression.
We traveled to Northern California to attend the wedding of my cousin Ivy. It was a beautiful wedding that took place in amazing scenery. There was great food and drink, a live band and many other special things. But one simple thing brought an amazing amount of energy to the wedding. It was a photo booth.
Now this wasn't your average homemade; glorified shower curtain with a tripod photo booth. This was a real photo booth, equipped with all the bells and whistles. But it wasn't just the photo booth that made it special. It came with a prop box full of crazy hats and wigs. The creativity of the prop box mixed with the photo booth energized the party.
We wanted to "catch" the energy from that wedding in Northern California and bring it back to Utah. So we built a photo booth rental company focused on that creative energy. Our photo booth takes pictures, but it also takes video and uploads pictures directly to Facebook. We also decided to always include the prop box at no extra charge.
Please follow this blog as we share experiences as we help people "catch" their memories.
